Edouard Carmignac founded Carmignac in 1989.

He is Chairman, Chief Investment Officer and Fund Manager. He started his career as an Analyst at Blyth Eastman Dillon New York in 1972 before entering Paribas two years later where he worked in International Financial Transactions

In 1977, he joined Banque de la Société Financière Européenne where he worked as Assistant Director of off­balance sheet finance, energy and mining sectors. He held this position for 6 years.

In 1984, he launched Pyramide Gestion, subsidiary of Hamant & Cie. Then, he briefly occupied the position of CEO of brokerage for Hamant­Carmignac before founding Carmignac in 1989.

Edouard Carmignac holds a Master's degree in Economics and a MBA from Columbia University.
